Eric is an independent researcher in information science and media studies. His research explores the information behaviour of media fans and everyday onlife practice. His other research interests include: media fandom, ICTs, information use, knowledge management, social media analysis, qualitative research methods, and gaming culture.
Eric is an alumnus of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, where he earned his PhD in media and communication. He also holds a Masters of Arts (MA) in Digital Humanities and a Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
In addition to topics related to his academic research, Eric (very occasionally) posts about local events, pop culture news, garden gnomes, and an entire spectrum of hobbies and interests that he probably takes much too seriously.
Eric lives in Edmonton with an ever-increasing host of garden gnomes.
